Re: Files and Folder Permissions

Without knowing exactly what you are trying to accomplish all I can say is - try the various settings until you get the combination that works for you. You may want to play with a test folder until you figure out what works.

Hi

To confirm, would I be selecting the delete subfolders and foles or simply
delte. In addition would I check the box, apply these permissions to objects
and/or containers within this container only.

Finally would I need to select the Replace permissions entries on all child
objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects option.

Thanks

In the dialog where you set NTFS permissions you need to click on Advanced
where you will see more options. You may want to reconsider this strategy
though. If the users are running programs like Office that create temp files
in the folder, the temp files will never get deleted. You will have to set a
scheduled task to run a script to clean up the folders periodically.
