License Limits:
Windows 2008 Standard host - one Windows 2008 Standard guests
Windows 2008 Enterprise host - four Windows 2008 Enteprise guests
Windows 2008 DataCenter host - unlimited number of Windows 2008 guests (limited by physical characteristics of the host computer).

Otherwise , you need a license for any guest.

Physical limits vary with host computer characteristics.
