Thanks Shaun,
Another thing,...really has nothing directly to do with this but it had me
really ticked off Friday. In the past, if you had to call MS Support for
issues caused by Security Patches of Service Packs there was no charge
because MS felt that if "they broke it" you should not have to pay for it.
Well now,...this is still true for "home users" but if a business calles in
they have to pay for the support,...so now if MS screws it up you have to
pay them to fix it.
Friday morning the laptop I use got the BSOD after updates were
applied,...they define the difference (business -vs- home user) by whether
the machine is "connected to a domain" or not. First I argued with them
that you don't "connect" to a Domain,...you *join* a Domain and "connect" to
a network,...and that being connected or not is really irrelevant,...but
then,...what stinkin' difference does it make anyway!!
Well, any of you that have read much of my posts over a long period of time
know how I can be sometimes when I get bent out of shape ( sorry,
-[ ),.....so, anyway after giving the poor call screener a bunch of greif I
unpluged the network cable and disabled the wireless nic and
said,.."There!!,...its not connected to anything!!" and she processed it as
a individual user and I didn't have to pay for their screw-up with their
updates. I doubt I get off that easy next time.
