Re: Print Confirmation Popup

It is set to winprint for the printer in question (I am onthe windows print server); however, there are several options off to the side. "RAW" is selected - is this ok?

I disabled the service.

One printer (An HP laserjet 4101 MFP not poppiingup confirmation)

All done from print server...

to turn it off. But we print over a WAN and I need to ensure the successful
print popup window appears for users who print to remote printers in other
geographical locations.

1. I use HP printers everywhere with internal jet direct cards.
2. On both my Windows print server and the advanced print properties on each
terminal server i have the following set under print properties>advanced
tab: "Show informational notifications for network printers" and "Notify
when remote documents are printed"

Is there any other setting that could override these settings?
Are the two settings above in conflict with one another?

Note: the problem is intermittent and I need it working consistently

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

The popup is caused by two things: the print processor and a service
that runs in tandem with the print processor. Here's what you do.

Control Panel > Printers, right-click and do a Properties on each
printer, click the Advanced tab, set the print processor to Winprint.
HP drivers hijack the Windows print processor and put the annoying
junk one in. DO this for all your printers. Next, go to Control Panel
Administrative Tools > Services, locate a services called PML Driver
HPZ12 or some such junk, set it to disabled, stop the service. There
may be more than one so look carefully. Let me know how it goes.
