Hi All!

I've run into a bit of a conundrum: we recently purchased 3 2003
Server Licences, with OEM Media Kits, however when it was delivered we
discovered that the supplier had sent us 2008 OEM Media kits (and
licences). From what I understand there is a way in which you can
obtain 2003 Product Keys, based on the purchase of the 2008 edition -
I've actually done this through the Eopen website, but for non-oem
kits, please see Q2. All are standard editions, we wanted 2003 R2
64bit.

Q1: Is this true?

Yes, according to this one:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/downgrade-rights.aspx

Q2: If so, how do we go about it?

Contact the "Microsoft Activation Center" and request a Volume License Key for you product.

http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/resources/vol/numbers.mspx)

You will need the Agreement number and License number (not the license key) from your original product to get a downgrade license sent to you.

I've logged into the eopen website,
where
we normally register our non-oem server software, however this time
round the
guys responsible for purchases bought OEM versions, there are no
authorization or licence codes that I could find, and therefore no
download
with product key.
Please point me in the right direction, any help would be appreciated.
Installing the 2008 versions is not an option due to customer
requirements.

Thanks,

.
