Re: Printers shown offline after running Print migrator 3.1 in restore

Since the software for the port monitor is not running, the printer cannot
send print data anywhere.

You will need to add the Vendor port monitor before restore or change the
ports on the Windows 2000 server to Standard TCP/IP ports, then backup the
server.

Hi everyone,

I am trying to migrate all of the printers (about 50 printers and most are
HP) from Windows 2000 server to new built Winodws 2003 server. I was able
to
backup as a cab file using Printer Migrator 3.1 from old Windows 2000
print
server. However, when I tried to restore the cab file to new Windows 2003
server. It gave me an error message (must have to install HP JetAdmin) in
the
middle of process.
Here is the error:
WARNING: The following service (print monitor) must to be installed on the
target and the restore re-run -SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\HP JetAdmin.

I clicked OK and keep running until finish completely. But when I open
Printer folder. Most of the printers are shown as offline. I tried to
downloaed HP Jetadmin from HP site but it is no longer available and
therefore, I downloaded HP Web jetadmin instead and installed it. I ran
Print
Migrator 3.1 again but it gave me the exact error message. What can I do
to
fix that? Because right now most of the printers are shown OFFLINE and HP
Jetadmin is no longer available. I go to properties of thoses offline
printers, they are not map to any port like TCP/IP or HP Jetadmin.

Any input will be very appreciated.

Thanks.
Mugen
