I have three computers:

1) P35 Neo/G33 w/intel Core 2 Duo x64 (no hyper-v support), 2.40GHz, 4GB RAM, Win2008, Production Server
2) P35 Neo2 w/Celeron, 2.66GHz, 4GB RAM, WinXP Pro SP3, Software Development
3) old school ThinkPad, used as a file server and stuff....

I want to make a basic domain using these computers. It's just only me and no other users will be on the domain. How ever I will be using the server for internet access for my customers to login for services, and etc...

This is what I was thinking I could do and would appreciate your feedback.

On the server: (had to install VS R2 for now, but will get intells vPro cpu later)
1) Add "AD DS" on the host.
2) Create a VHD for the Win2008 Webserver and add it to the domain.

Other computers:
Just add them to the domain.

I just want a simple domain w/a production server for my customers and that's it....

Thanks for your feed back!...

You really don't want to put a DC directly on the Internet. Perhaps you can help us understand why (you think) you need a Domain Controller?
