Re: Configuring manage printer permissons

Oh and we've looked at print operators group but thast doesn't give enough
permissions, and the new print management console while it will do what we
want, we dont want to be adding rights to every printer we add, rather we'd
like to have rights assigned by default when a pritner is added.

Thanks

Hi,

We currently have a central server running 2003r2 which is managing
printers
for the servers. We have the option of manually amending the security
rights
via the print management console however as we are looking to roll out 50
more servers with roughly 4 printers per server, automatic security
policy
would aid us to ensure that a standard security structure is in place. We
would like to assign a helpdesk group rights to manage printers but not to
allow them local admin or power user rights.

Is there any way of setting up a script in group policy to achieve the
automatic assignment of printer security rights on the servers?

Thanks

Paul
