Hello Walter P.,

DC\DNS means, that i think the Domain controller is also DNS server.
Your
ipconfig shows that the DNS server is in a different subnet then the
workstation.
x.x.37.x is another then x.x.57.x Can you ping the DNS server by ip
address
and computer name from the workstation?

Hello Walter P.,

If policies are not applied correctly, it can have problems with
DNS, so please post an ipconfig /all from one problem machine and
the DC?DNS server of your domain.

Hello Walter P.,

Should a normal domain user add the computer to the domain? Or do
you add them to the domain yourself and the users can not login
with theire user account?

Hi all,

I have a Win 2003 Server, with about 50 PCs (XP Pro SP2) into
the
domain. My problem is when I try to add a couple of PCs to the
domain.
I normally add them thru My Computer - Computer Name - Change -
Member Of... reboot.
There, there is no problem, but when a user logs in, with his
domain
user, you can see that the GPOs are not applied, and that the PC
cannot "see" the domain (for instance, to assign rights to
domain
users)
Nevertheless, the PC appears in the Computers OU and its full
name
includes the domain...
I have tried to re-add the PC several times, deleting the PC
account
from the AD, but it is the same.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi Ppl!

To reply to your questions:

1: We are using static IPs
2: The Admin user is the only that manages users and computers,
therefore, only with that user we add, modify and delete computer
and
user accounts
Thanks to all

Hi everybody,

I have verified in one PC and it seems the problem was what Meinolf
has mentioned: our DC is also our primary DNS, and in that PC it was
not configured as such. I have changed the DNS and now we have been
able to add it to the domain. Anyway, there are other cases I will
verify whether it is the same issue and let you know. Thanks to all
for your support!!!

Regards

W.
