I got a new computer and I used the backup feature in Server 2008 to
backup the server to a USB portable hard drive, but when I try to
restore it would not allow me to use the USB drive so I transferred
the backup file to the computer and I still don't have the option of
selecting the backup file and I've tried everything; it's only giving
me 2 options, the CD drive and Remote shared folder.
I would like to know if there is a way around this problem and if not
can I just extract what I really need from the backup file?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Since Server 2008 has not yet been released, I have to imagine there's a
special beta newsgroup for it....if you're using the beta, you should have
been informed of the name/location of that group (I don't have it, sorry).
