Hello,
We have installed a new HP Proliant DL380 G5 server with Win2K3 R2
with SP2 and updated. It has File Server and Print Server roles and is
a Member server of the domain. DC is Win2K3 Std. server. All users are
Win2K and WinXP domain users. There are no problems with Printers
shared. We have shared few folders on this server. Now users
connecting with one of the shared folder complains hanging problem few
times throughout the day.
To be precise, I have shared a folder with Sharing Permission as
change for Everyone and for Security rights, i have added a Global
Group with all the file server users given Read-only rights to this
root folder. There are different deptt. folder within and with again
different global groups with their deptt. users Read-only access to
their folders. And finally every user have their own folder inside
with Modify rights for their folders respectively.
Users have no problems accessing folders/files, but it just hangs for
a min. and comes back normal.
I have enabled the File Screening available in Win2K-R2 to block all
Audio-Video and Executable Files. I have also enabled Quota for few
folders within.
There are not errors in the eventid of the server.
Please guide, what could be the problem as i am not able to trace it.
Thanks in advance.
abckid.
