AD Partition sector size - what size for best performance?

I notice some post on partitioning the hard drive for Active Dirtory
as follows:-

With 2 Hard Disks, that is pretty much your only option, but things
can be
partitioned like this:
6GB C OS 1024b sectors
1GB D Swap 64kb sectors
2GB E NTDS 64kb sectors
2GB F NTDSlog 64kb sectors
2GB G Sysvol 512b sectors
6GB H Logs + Backup 64kb sectors
1GB Free Space

How are the sectors sizes determined for optimum performance? Can any
one explain the above and the advantages of such sectors sizes.

Cheers...
