RE: VPN Clients can't access other resources

Hi,

You need to assign a valid IP address to the VPN connection. Depending on
the Domain Functioning level you can assign an IP address to a user account
in ADUC or through RRAS. On the Latter I usually obtain a group of IP
Addrseses that are not in the DHCP pool and then open RRAS - rigt click
servername (local) / properties then click the IP tab. Select Static pool and
add the addresses that I want to allocate to connections. This is another way
I can control assignment and limit connections other than controlling PPTP or
L2TP port quantities. You will also see a radio button giving DHCP controll
of RRAS IP Assignment.

Do you not have DHCP on your network ? it may explain why your clients are
using APIPA i.e. 169.254.x.x

I hope this helps you.

I just setup RRAS to allow PPTP VPN connections and the clients connect fine
and can ping and DNS resolve the RRAS server but no other server or resource
in the network. Do I need to add a static route? All the clients are
receiving a 169. IP address too.
