Hello,
can you check on the eventlog to be sure you chose shutdown ?
Else it may come from the server (ACPI..)
Can you run the dell diagnostics CD ?

I just installed a new Dell Power Edge 2950 with Windows server 2003 Std.
Everying is fine. The only problem I got now is that I can not shut down
from Windows. When selecting "shutdown" it won't shut down. Instead, it
reboots. I called Dell tech he has no idea. Is something wrong with my
OS
set up?

I am having the same issue with both a 1950 and a 2950 -- both running
the latest Broadcom drivers. Any more info out there?
