Hi, the logon dialogue box appears asking for the user name and password.
When the password and user name is entered they can’t access the share. If
they attempt to browse to the 2003 server via network neighbourhood they
can’t even view the share on this server. When they click on the server in
network neighbourhood they are prompted for the user name and password. This
is not the case when they browse to any of the 2000 domain controllers in
this domain as they can see the shares listed when they click on the 2000 DC
name.

Hi, all accounts are domain users! for example:
Account John is a member of child domain called West.newtrader.co.uk which
is the child domain of newtraders.co.uk. West.newtrader.co.uk contains the
2003 member server and John can access the share on this 2003 member
server.
Account Peter is a member of the parent domain called newtrader.co.uk and
he
can access the share on 2003 member server on the child domain
West.newtraders.co.uk.
Account Dave is a member of child domain North.newtrader.co.uk and he
cannot
access the 2003 member server share on child domain West.newtrader.co.uk.
All
users have access to the share.
All domains has two 2000 server DC's

Hi All, I have a share access issue that I can't solve. The problem
exists
when attempting to access a 2003 member server share for a PC's in
different
2000 child domain.
For example I have a main domain called N.co.uk and then several child
domains. All of these domains are running two Windows 2000 DC and
several
XP
clients. All was working fine until I added a windows 2003 member
server
to
host share on one of the child domains.
The users on the child domain that hosts the new 2003 server can access
the
shares fine, the users on the parent domain can access the shares but
any
users on the other of the child domains cannot access the shares. They
are
prompted for a password each time which when entered still won't allow
access.
I double checked the contivity and the share access rights and all is
setup
OK!
Any help would be appreciated!
Regards,
Monkey
