optimize remote desktop

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello,
I am using a cisco vpn client on XP to log into a remote network, then
I do a remote desktop to a 3GHZ w2003 server box.

The remote desktop is a bit slow, maybe too slow.
It is even slower when I do a remote desktop from the 1st w2003 server
to another one.

Is there anything I acan do to optimize the speed? Have a fast
broadband connection from my XP laptop - is possible my laptop is not
up to the job 1.73 GHZ? Will I reducing the color depth on the local
or remote box help? or even the definition?
Anything else I can do?

TIA

Ton
