The first DC you install as a DC requires a DNS infrastructure that can
support dynamic updates and SRV records, so I am fairly sure you
installed the first DC with AD integrated DNS.
As such, the second DC must point to the first DC in its NIC. You can,
and perhaps should, also install DNS on the second DC to give fault
tolerance, and then you should point the NIC on each DC to both
servers.

Other factors to consider for high availability are putting both DC´s
as GC´s and distributing the FSMO roles.
