| Hello,
|
| Thank you for using newsgroup!
|
| This similar issue may be caused by: A policy is in place to restrict
| Internet Explorer browsing to secure zones: Users configurations\Windows
| Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenace\Security - Security Zones & Rating
| The restriction is defined to exclude all network UNC paths in the local
| intranet zone.
|
| A resultant set of policies will indicate the following setting is
| disabled: Include all network paths (UNC)
|
| NOTE: The above setting may not be viewable from the group policy editor.
| The reason is because the Windows 2003 Server component called "Internet
| Explorer Security Configurations" is installed. This can be removed via
| Add/Remove Windows Components in control panel.
|
| Resolution:
| =========
| Reconfigure the policy or remove the component "Internet Explorer
Security
| Configurations".
|
| Thanks & Regards,
|
| Ken Zhao

| | I brought up a new server running Windows 2003 Server with SP2. When I
| | attempt to launch programs I get:
| |
| | Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not
| have
| | the appropriate permissions to access the item.
| |
| | I'm logged in as a domain admin and the file persmissions show full
| control.
| |
| | What do I need to fix to make this go away?
| |
| | Thanks...
