Thanks for the info! Now one more question, does it matter if I created
the group in "Domain Local", "Global" or "Universal"?

Technically NO (IF you can see the group on the server).

There are both technical reasons and best practice reasons for using
a Global group to package domain users, and a Local group to set
the permissions (Global into the Local). Or Universal into Local.

I tried all 3 with "Security" role. But I also did not ask them to log
off and log back on again.

That is your problem. Rights (not permissions) and GROUP Membership
is only recalculated at authentication/logon time.

Just wondering what role would be better or does it matter?

Thanks!

All,

I'm trying to lock down a printer so only certain 5 users can print to
it. I went to the properties of the printer, removed everyone from the
security tab, created a Domain Local group, added the 5 users to the
group, and added the group to the printer will print, manage printer,
manage documents rights. But for some reason, nobody in the group can
print to it. The only time anyone can print is if I put the Everyone
group back in with print access, but then EVERYONE can print to it
again.

Any ideas?

Sounds like one of the following:

1) You made the group after these five users AUTHENTICATED and
they need to logoff and back ON to get the group membership.

2) The users are NOT authenticating when they logon (maybe getting
own with cached credentials.)

3) you gave the group the wrong permissions but that is really hard to
do -- GROUPName -> Print.
