All,
I'm trying to lock down a printer so only certain 5 users can print to it.
I went to the properties of the printer, removed everyone from the
security tab, created a Domain Local group, added the 5 users to the
group, and added the group to the printer will print, manage printer,
manage documents rights. But for some reason, nobody in the group can
print to it. The only time anyone can print is if I put the Everyone
group back in with print access, but then EVERYONE can print to it again.
Any ideas?
Sounds like one of the following:
1) You made the group after these five users AUTHENTICATED and
they need to logoff and back ON to get the group membership.
2) The users are NOT authenticating when they logon (maybe getting
own with cached credentials.)
3) you gave the group the wrong permissions but that is really hard to
do -- GROUPName -> Print.
