Hi

I have 2 subnets. The one has the ISA Server, DNS + DHCP server on Subnet
A
(192.168.0.1~250) and I have another subnet 192.168.50.1~249 with a server
(DHCP #2) that has 2 NICs one has a Static/reserver IP address from 1st
subnet and the other NIC has a static for the 2nd subnet. This server also
has it's own DHCP service running. This Server can go out onto the
internet
by pointing it to the ISA (proxy) server's IP address and Port.

My questions is how can I get the units connected that has the IP
addresses
allocated from subnet #2 by the 2nd DHCP?

The mistake is almost always failure to add a (manual) ROUTE to the
ISA server, or other "router in the middle".

Whenever you have 3 or more Routers, the ISP counts as one, the ISA
as two, there is at least one router (e.g., ISA) "in the middle of the other
routers.

The router(s) in the middle can only use ONE Default Gateway (at a time),
and that needs to point towards the 'largest set of networks' -- usually
to the ISP for THE Internet.

Then "to find" the other internal Network(s) the ISA router must have
that extra route, the rough equivalent of this:

route add 192.168.50.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.2

Where 192.168.0.2 is presumable the address of the NEAR SIDE of
the ADJACENT router which can find that other (192.168.50.0)
network or networks.

I have tried using the default gateway as the DHCP #2's address. I have
also
tried using the proxy server IP address in the connections tab and no
luck.

The trick is to realize that the "MIDDLE router" is the problem, not the
"edge
router(s)".

I am new to this with limited knowledge so if someone could point me in
the
right direction I would really appreciate it.

It is a very common misunderstanding.

Thank you.
