Hello CK,

Try in Device manger to view hidden devices to search for your NIC1 or boot in safe mode with networking and open device manager, remove all NIC's, ignore install and restart with normal booting. Than install the new drivers.

When installing Broadcom NetXtreme II Family of Adapters for a Dell
2950, after rebooting, Local Area Connection 1 disappeared, and was
replaced by Local Area Connection 2. There was no IP address bound to
#2 but when I tried to save the IP address to #2, I got a message that
the IP address was bound to #1. I can't find #1 to remove it or
anything.

Is there a way of preventing this from happening on other servers?
