Installed bigger hard drives in a mirrored raid config, (Windows 2003
Server) and used directory services restore. I am a new consultant at
this
site. Backup software tech instructed me to install all service packs
before doing the restore. There were a few problems after the restore,
when I checked the SP, it was service pack 1, and I had installed SP2
prior
to the restore. The mmc will not open dns, and others. Apparently
after
updates were run on Friday, only the Server could connect to the
Internet.
I had to manually configure the gateway on the workstations to get them
on
the Internet. If I install SP2 on the server will it solve all the
problems
they are having?
Thank you for your help in advance!

Candace,
Can you post some of the error messages that you are getting from the
event
log. this will help me determine what kind of error it is.
off the top of my head, im not sure what all this server was set up to do,
but it sounds like it has some problems. if the server was SP2 prior to
the
restore, I would put SP2 back on it now. I wouldnt assume that it will
fix
all of your problems.
also why did you have to use Directory Services Restore? All you did was
change the mirror array size?
.
