Directory Services Restore Help!!!

Installed bigger hard drives in a mirrored raid config, (Windows 2003
Server) and used directory services restore. I am a new consultant at this
site. Backup software tech instructed me to install all service packs
before doing the restore. There were a few problems after the restore,
when I checked the SP, it was service pack 1, and I had installed SP2 prior
to the restore. The mmc will not open dns, and others. Apparently after
updates were run on Friday, only the Server could connect to the Internet.
I had to manually configure the gateway on the workstations to get them on
the Internet. If I install SP2 on the server will it solve all the problems
they are having?
