You can go from freeware to enterprise products. How many servers, and

Open source Snare gives you a great start. You can use Snare to monitor
event logs and other log files.
There must be a hundred products that will give you more, with advantages
and disadvantages. Here are three I like for different cirumstances:
-Netikus Event Sentry
-MonitorIT
-DorianSoft
On balance for servers my preferred product is Altiris Monitor Solution
for
Servers. It is a little more expensive than some, but it integrates with
other parts of a service management system like Helpdesk, Deployment and
Inventory.

Hello,
What is the best 3rd party software out there that will monitor the
following on our Windows 2003 servers:
1) Disk space
2) Event Logs
3) Windows Updates (probably just have to use WSUS for this)
4) Symantec Antivirus Scans/Threats/Updates (if possible)
5) Backup Exec job status' (if possible)
Thanks for any replies with your knowledge or experience!- Hide quoted
