On one of your computers that are on the domain open a command prompt and
run ipconfig /all and note the IP address listed for the DNS server.
On the problem computer right click on my network places and select
properties. Then right click on the local area connection and select
properties. In the box "this connection uses the following items" highlight
TCP/IP and click the properties button. On the resulting page put in the IP
address of the DNS server you noted when running ipconfig /all on the other
computer.
OK your way out and try to add the computer to the domain again by going
through the system properties - computer name tab.

I've been using the Computer Name interface on the Sys properties
page. Is that not the best place to do it?
Thanks

Are you giving the laptop the IP address of the DNS server set up for

We currently have a server running Windows 2k3. One of the
workstations had to be rebuilt and is running WinXP. Initially, I was
unable to join the domain. After deleting the computers listed for
the domain, I was able to get the workstation to join. It did
however, give me a funky message about having to use the old name. At
that point, I tried to login to the domain at startup. The system
told me the "Domain Was Unavailable". I logged in locally and was
able to map drives, view the shares, and so forth. I then removed the
computer and the user account on the domain, disconnected the
workstation (changed to a workgroup), added back in the computer and
user account, and tried to get back on the domain. At this point,
that has been unsuccessful. Any suggestions on how to get the laptop
back on the domain? Ideally, I want to be able to login through a
wireless connection (how it was setup previously).
Thanks
