The general answer is: Click Start / Help, then look for
help on "Ownership".

The problem I have now is with NTFS file permissions. I have a foldersetup
on that server called "User Shared Files" and 15 users subfolders.the
"User Shared Files"
NTFS - Administrator {User} [Full Rights] & Everyone {Group} [Full
Rights]
*Unchecked* Allow inheritance from parent
Share - Administrator {User} [Full Rights] & Everyone {Group}
[Full
Rights]
"User Subfolders"
NTFS - Administrator {User} [Full Rights] & Specific User {User}
[Full
Rights]
*Unchecked* Allow inheritance from parent
Share - Not enabled
I am logged in as Administrator ... with full permissions
I can change the permissions on the "User Shared Files" & the "User
Subfolders". When I go into the subfolders of the users and try to
look
at
the permission that should be inherited for the "User Subfolders" I
get
following error:
You only have permission to view the current security information
{folder}ideas
When I try to reset all permission on child objects I also get an
error
stating "Access Denied"
I tried rebooting the server but that didn't do anything. I am going
crazy
because some of my users are now locked out of their user folder. Any
on how I can reset these permissions?
Thanks,
-Marty
You need to seize ownership of the whole folder.
