The DC for the network cant be found. Network error. Processing group
policies canceled.
the error is known in newsgroups but i cant find a working solution,
not even on KB.we have the error in several ip networks. we checked
DNS records, disabled AutoSensing @NIC , NIC changed, tried Registry
Tips but the error stays even on new installed pcs. there is no
message in the firewall logs, even if the client firewall is off,
error keeps re-appearing. Clients in some other segments do not have
the error. icmp to the DC is working, group policies work, net shares
are connected but all with the userenv error in the event log . In
addition we found out that some ICMP packets of the client OUTGOING
are dropped (since when does XP that ? ) but we´re not sure if thats
the problem causing userenv 1054, since if firewall is OFF its still
having that error.
