articles...........Make sure you as an admin have a back door account
so you will not have to go through this situation again.

There is no local administrator account on a DC. It is an active directorypassword) on a DC but that isn't going to reset the domain admins account
administator account. period. Best bet is to hope he put a time limit for
the lockout, if not you will need to reboot the server. btw, do you only
have admin rights on your administrator account, there is not another
account in the domain with domain admin access ?Well, there is a local admin account (aka Directory Services Restore Mode
(directly).
The poster is likely hosed -- faced with cracking his own database --
maybe getting ahold of it with that local admin account.
Try:
Insecure.org and follow the link to Network Security tools where
there is a section on password crackers.
