I'm using Windows 2003 Storage Server in NY which I
believe is running R2 DFS. My other location is just running the
regular Windows 2003 SP1. Is there anyway I can get DFS to run between
the 3 locations?
To participate in Win 2k3 R2 DFSR all servers in the replication group must
be R2.
AFAIK you can run setup2 from the second disk on your Win 2k3 SP 1 computers
to make the R 2 components available, then go into add remove Windows
programs and install DFSReplication.
I'm not 100% sure you can use the second disk from the Win 2k3 Storage
server R2 set to install R2 on your regular Win 2k3 Sp1 server, but it
would be easy enough to cobble together a "box", install you "regular"
install of Win 2k3 SP1 and test adding the R2 components from the Win 2k3
Storage Server disk.

All,
I would like to use DFS replication to replicate my data folder between
the source NY to 2 target location DC and LI.
My issue is this. I'm using Windows 2003 Storage Server in NY which I
believe is running R2 DFS. My other location is just running the
regular Windows 2003 SP1. Is there anyway I can get DFS to run between
the 3 locations? Tried researching online and i'm getting mixed info,
some say I can and some say I can't. Any ideas?
Also, if all else fails, should I try robocopy?
Thanks for any info!
