Have you read the following?:

May be of some help.

Win2003 DC with R2 (new install) and all current hotfixes as of
1/14/2007. (1 Gig ram, large page file, plenty of disk space on drives)

Many applications are failing install with the message:

"Not enough storage is available to complete this operation"

This machine is really a lab/teaching/demo machine so is used
like a workstation much of the time. Due to this I had set
the performance option to favor applications over services,
but returning this to default (service over apps) and rebooting
didn't help.

I suspected a problem with "Data Execution Prevention", and so
disabled it for apps (only active for services etc) AND this
seemed to help. Examples below marked "FIXED" worked
after changing this and rebooting, but others still fail.

Examples:
FProtect Antivirus
Visio (the newest version)
Office (various versions, mostly latest but FIXED after DEP change)
-- but I also had to copy the whole CD to the hard drive before
it worked
Sound drivers (FIXED after changing DEP)
Alps pointing device drivers/utility (FIXED by DEP change)

Nero 7 -- doesn't give this message but just hangs install after first
splash/install and choosing "Custom".

Problems started before installing any AV, Spyware/Trojan protection etc.

Suspicions:

1) Something to do with DTC, DCOM, or the Windows Installer???

2) Something to do with new R2 security enhancements???
(this physical machine ran Win2003 DC with SP 1 just fine)

3) DEP (still)???

Googling both newsgroups and Microsoft (plus Inet wide) has so
far yielded nothing specific and few mentions of specific fixes for
other mentions of this (uninformative) error message.

Suggestions? Methods of attack?
