Found a workaround - uninstall "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security
Configuration" and you should be fine. This is definitely NOT what
this feature is supposed to do, but removing it eliminates the problem.

Good Luck.

That did resolve the problem ... good job Microsoft.
Thanks again ..

No, you aren't forgetting anything. It is happening to our servers as
well. Looks like a problem with IE7 and a patch of some kind. We are
trying to cross reference servers that work with servers that don't to
try to isolate the issue. Right now, uninstalling IE7 does NOT fix the
problem.

If we find the problem, we will post.

Windows 2003 Server with all updates/sp .. Domain member.

When attemping to execute/launch an *.exe I get ..
" windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may
not
have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

I'm logged in as a domain admin, and I can perform other tasks that
only a
local admin could.
The installation app is located on my C:\ drive and all NTFS
permissions are
in order.
I am able to execute/launch the exact same exe from the command prompt.
Issue seems to only exist when attemping via explorer (double click)

Anyone?
Am I forgeting something very simple?
