RE: Certificate Authority Backup

Hi Ash,

There are primarily 3 ways to backup Certificate Services:
1. Take a System State Backup
2. certutil -backup C:\Destination
3. Using the Certification Authority Snap-In

If you wish to have a seperate backup of your CA and have it be scheduled I
would recommend using the certutil -backup option. Please note you will
need to specify a password in this syntax for the pfx export of the CA key
pair.

Hope this helps,

Hi Guy?s,

First time visitor to the site, I hope someone can point me in the right
direction in regards to the following:

Can someone please tell me if it?s possible to schedule or do an automatic
backup of the Certificate Authority? I have manually backed it up however
would like to set it up so it?s done automatically without me manually
doing it every morning.

Currently I am backing up most of my data using NTBackup as scheduled
jobs, and aware that if System State is backed up on the server that
contains Certificate Server then CA will be backed up. However I would like
to setup backup so CA is backed up separately.

Many Thanks

Ash
