Well I just got the file from microsoft, but it turns out that I can
not apply it since I already installed SP1 on the server.
Anyone know of any other solution??
Or maybe of another software I can download/buy that will restore tapes
backed up with ntbackup?
And thanks in advance.

Hi Omar,
To get mentioned hotfix you must call Microsoft. When you do, they will send
it to you for free (it is explained in mentioned KB).

Hi,
I do a regular backup using ntbackup on my windows 2003 server, I
backup my entire web document root. Now I need to restore a folder
from within the files, but I keep getting this error:
An inconsistency was encountered on the requested media
I searched the KB and found this article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/887975/en-us but cant seem to find the
hot fix!
I updated my tape drive driver from HP, I got another copy of the
ntbackup software from another up to date windows server 2003 (the
server i'm trying to restore to is also up to date) I still get the
same error.
ntbackup version I'm using: 5.2.3790.1830
tape drive I'm using is: HP C5683A DDS4 SCSI tape drive
tapes used: HP DDS4
I did manage to do a restore from an old sony DDS4 tape that I had, but
the information on it is far too old, and the info i need is on the HP
tapes.
Any ideas??
Is there another software I can use to restore tapes that have been
backed up using ntbackup that I may try??
Thanks in advance.
