Print spooler grows

We've got a Windows 2000 Server, and lately I've noticed that the print
spooler will grow to what appears to be a very large size (~500mb), which
effects the performance of the server. I stop/restart the service every few
days to get the process size back down. What info do I need to provide for
someone to help me understand what's going on here? The basics are:

2000 Server, SP4
12 XP Pro workstations
2 XP Pro tablet pc's
PowerEdge 2600 server
1gb RAM
Server is DC and runs our primary business s/w
We have two HP laserjet printers on the network

What else should I provide?
