In the share permissions add Authenticated Users - Full Control
In the NTFS permissions add Authenticated Users - Write (or above but
write
is the minimum)
You could apply this to the Everyone Group if you prefer - I just don't
like
giving NTFS permissions to that group.
Users must have these levels for Redirected Folders to work. Make the
changes and try again.
From what information you've given me the policy is correct as long as
it's
applying to both the user and computer correctly.

No Everyone group does not have Full Control, it wasn't set up that way
so I didn't do it. I just replicated the same share permissions on the
new server.
There are no AD or DFS or Time Sync problems on both the DCs we have.
Also checked gpresult both user and machine inherits Default domain
policy in RSoP.
Should I try completely disabling the policy and then turn it back on?
Would that help?

Double check to make sure the Everyone group has share permissions of
Full
Control and NTFS permissions with a minimum of write.
Any other GP problems? Any errors on the servers repeating every 5 min
or
related to AD, DFS or Time sync?
From a command prompt on a workstation run gpresult and check that the
default domain policy applied to both user and workstation.

Thanks for the reply.
The user's home folder in the profile section of the AD has been
updated to the new server as well. \\newserver\Users
Regarding the Share permissions, I re-created the exact share from
old
to new. It doesn't have Authenticated Users at all, just Admin and
Everyone group.

Sorry to ask the obvious but need to check - since you're
redirecting to the
user's home folder - what is the path for home folders in the
Active
Directory user accounts?
Also, be sure you have the *share* permissions set on the new
destination.
Authenticated Users to Full Control

Hello All,
Recently we got a new NAS Unit (WSS 2003) and moved all the data
from
old file server (win2003 std) which is also our DC.
There is a Folder Redirection policy for My Documents in Default
Domain
policy. I've changed the login script to map to the new server
and
machines have new mapped drives. But "My documents" (Start->My
Docs)
still takes us to the old file server. When I ran RSoP on couple
machines, it still indicates the same Def. domain policy.
The group policy setting is:
Basic-Redirect everyone's folder to the same location
Target is: Redirect to the user's home folder
(I have tried changing this policy to no effect, tried XP logon
twice,
enabled XP to wait for network, used gpupdate /force, nothing
worked).
Settings:
Grant user exclusive....is checked.
Move contents of My Doc...is checked.
Policy Removal is: Leave the folder in the new location when
policy is
removed.
How can I change the path for My Documents on XP machines, any
suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Are there any entries in eventvwr? IIRC Folder Redirection is pretty good at
logging the errors it encounters.
My permissions are everyone: full control on the share, and administrator &
user: full control on each individual's folder.
