Windows 2003 Server will no longer boot
Hello,
I am working on a server of ours which no longer boots. It gets to the
windows 2003 screen, scrolls the little bar across about once and then
reboots. If I turn off the restart on system failure, it gets to the
same point and shows a blue screen with a stop error. All the stop
error says it that a problem occurred, try to run chkdsk /f. Now what
I was doing before I got to this point....I was trying to setup
mirroring. I have 2 250gb SATA drives in the machine. I had windows
2003 installed on one and the other was blank. I set disk with the OS
installed on it as dynamic. Somehow this "deactivated" the disk so
when I right clicked and chose reactive, it didn't seem to do anything.
I rebooted and now it wont boot past the windows 2003 loading screen.
I've tried running chkdsk, fixmbr from the repair console, but nothing
seems to work. I really don't want to reinstall windows, because there
is client information on here that I don't want to write over. Can
anyone give me some suggestions on things to try that doesn't involve
reloading windows? Also a good link to a guide on setting up software
mirroring with 2 drives on windows 2003 would be appreciated. Thanks!
