RE: Server 2000 v 2003

Hi,

There are numerous security enchancements, design changes and code changes
that have been implmented in Windows Server 2003. First of all verify that
the problem is reproducible on a fresh install of Windows Server 2003,
preferrably with SP1 and all security updates available on Windows Update.
If it is then there is likely a problem with the software and you will need
to contact the vendor. Is this software designed for use on Windows Server
2003? If it's not designed for it then you may need to upgrade to a
version that is. If the problem is not reproducible on a fresh
installation of Windows Server 2003 then you will need to look at the
variables in the configuration of the other machine, things such as virus
scanners and driver versions.

Hope this helps,

Hi all,

I'm working on a multi-user FoxPro product across a network. Up to
recently we used a 2000 server and everything was fine. Since we've
moved to a 2003 server we've ran into problems. We get 3 testers
working on the same network tables and within a few minutes the
application hangs and seems to lock the tables. The really frustrating
thing is that it never hangs in the same area or on the one computer.
Our error messages are very vague as well.
Basically I was wondering if other people had problems going from
Server 2000 to 2003. Is there maybe extra security or configuration in
2003 that 2000 doesn't have.

Any help would be much appreciated,

.
