I would stop and disable the license logging service.

Over the past weekend I attempted to upgrade from Win 2000 to SBS 2003 in
a
network with a single server. The upgrade failed (just said it failed, no
more description), and when I tried to add back the CALs (had to reduce
the
CALs to 5 for the upgrade procedure), the license server hangs. Every time
I
run it, I add the number in the appropriate box, but when I click OK the
license server just hangs. Reboots make no difference. The Event Viewer
logs
an Event ID 201 in the Application Log, "No license was available for
[username] using product SMBServer 5.0."
During the aborted upgrade, is the license server replaced? This server
has
the standard 2000 server on it, not SBS. How do I get it back?
