Re: Windows 2003 and identifying logical drives
Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance
Well, Im not sure if this will help but I have run into the exact same
issue on dell poweredge servers. There are 2 ways in which I can link
disks in an array to there actual physical position in the server.
Dells open manage array manager in windows allows me to select the
drives that are in each raid 5 config and right click on them an tell
them to blink which has the actual drive lights blink. Then you can do
ita gain to turn blink off. The second way is in boot up when I can
load into the perc controller config. Once in here it tells me the
physical address in the server as well as lots and lots of other info.
I guess Im not sure what you are exactly trying to do. Are you just
trying to replace a disk and need to know what drives are in what
array?
Sorry if this doesnt help
Thanks - jon
