Just a few question on this. The drive in the server is about 30gb now(with
about 15gb used). I have a extra 20gb around. Will this cause a problemwith
the server ?No, unless you run out of space.
Now is this drive bad ? Or do you think a with a format it could be usedfor
temp storage ? (they really don't give me much $$ to work with)Hard disks are extremely cheap! Get yourself an 80 GByte disk
for this - it will be faster and it will give you plenty of spare capacity!
xcopy.. What is the best command line to do the whole drive in one shot ?Try xcopy /? from a Command Prompt.
xcopy *.* ? (don't remember the last time I used it, never really needed
to).
I want to get this done ASAPYou're welcome.
Thank you for your help !!!!

If you can read the disk under Vista then it's a simple matter
to create a bootable clone:
1. Take a disk of sufficient size.
2. Install it as a slave disk on some Win2000/XP/2003 machine.
3. Create the necessary partitions.
4. Mark the primary partition active.
5. Connect it as a slave disk to the Vista machine.
6. Use xcopy.exe to copy all files and folders from the problem
disk to the new disk. Make sure to use the right switches to
copy system files, hidden files and permissions.
You can now boot your server with this clone disk, provided
that it was not damaged during the power failure.
