RE: Installing 64-bit print drivers on 32-bit Windows Server 2003

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Darrell,

Its for a Xerox Document Centre C450 (I'm in Australia). I checked the file
and it is decorated, however it has .NTamd64 decorations and I'm not sure if
these are appropriate for an Intel Processor.

Would this mean its a driver intended for an AMD processor? Perhaps Xerox
supplied me with an incorrect driver (it took them several days to "locate" a
64-bit driver for this copier.)

Also, when you say the driver names must match exactly, do you mean the .INI
file? Or something else?

Thanks for being helpful, I'm finally getting somewhere.

Hello Luke,
Which printer drivers?
This should work, I was doing this during the beta and right when it
released.
The drivers do need the proper "decorations"
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/print_d/hh/
print_d/prtinst_5a926067-0556-48d4-b86c-7672107c5e3d.xml.asp

The driver names must also match exactly ( 32 bit printer name must equal
64 bit printer name)
Thanks,
