If you can't see these choices then you're not booting
off the floppy disk or else the structure of a:\boot.ini
is incorrect. Post it into your next reply! (And check
your BIOS boot sequence!).

2. Made the old disk as Primary master.
3. Booted the server with a diskette. Basically followed

This can happen when your boot.ini references are incorrect.
Try a number of different lines, e.g.
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft SBS1" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft SBS2" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft SBS3" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft SBS4" /fastdetect
Add a whole collection so that you can try them one after
the other until you find the right one.

5. When I try to access the data, I get an access denied error.
Seize ownership of the folder.

6. When I connect to another machine with 2003 server on it and use
dskprobe.exe, it shows the NTFS Boot Record View with all zeroes.

Any more pointers to fix the problem?

Here is how to make a server boot diskette:
- Format a floppy disk on some Win2000/XP PC.

About your inaccessible data: What happens when you try to
access it? If it is valuable, how come it did not get backed up?

1. I had installed 2003 SBS on a HDD and it was working fine. I
saved
lot
of
valuable data on it. Some of this data is under Users Shared
Folders.
2. To increase the space on the server, I added another HDD. The
new
HDD

connected as Primary Master and the old one was Secondary Master.
3. I formatted the newly added hdd as NTFS using the My

4. While doing so, I made the HDD as Active.
5. When I rebooted the machine, it did not boot. I removed the new
HDD

tried to boot again but it did not.
6. Then I tried the Recover Console through the 2003 Installation
CD.
I
tried changing the boot.ini, fixmbr, fixboot but it does not boot.
7. When I connect this disk to another machine with 2003, I am
able to
see
that the data is there (except the valuable data under Users
Shared
Folders).

How can I make the disk bootable again? If I can not boot it
again,
how
can
I recover the data under Users Shared Folders?
