as far as reaching the domain or any printers on the network, it's not
happening. They are not suddenly "kicked off" in the sense that the
computer reboots or anything, but they just mysteriously can't contact
the domain anymore. One day they will be fine and the next they won't
let someone log into the server.

And the error message you get is?
Event logs give you any clues on the workstations & server?


I'm using windows server 2003. and have flushed the dns server in case
there was bad information there. The event logs seem clear or anything
major.

Currently I am taking all of the computers off of the domain and
deleting them from the server before I re-add them. Hopefully this
will give me some sort of solution.

You might try posting an unedited ipconfig /all from both the DC and a
workstation. DNS is usually the culprit in these matters - make sure there's
no public DNS server IP listed in *any* server or computer's ipconfig. Only
your internal DNS server.

I am having an odd problem.

They only way that I can get them back on is to go through the
process of changing their names and re-adding them to the network. I
have done thise several times and am looking for a solution instead

What does "kicked off" actually mean in terms of symptoms?
I'm presuming you're using AD...have you checked all your event
logs? On DCs and workstations? Your post is a bit light on detail.
