Suddenly, administrator cannot login to our W2kSBS. When trying to
lockto
the server itself, or any workstation, I get the standard "Check caps
andand spelling" admonition. I can log in as other users on the server,
IallPegasus,
my users are logging in without difficulty from their workstations.noticed
I haven't made any changes recently to the server, the first time I
this was trying to add another workstation to the domain, and I got anerror
that I cannot, of course, recall right now.this
I created another admin user, and seem to be working OK with that, but
really bugs me.
Help?
Could be a corrupted profile. Rename the profile folder, then try again.
Thanks for the reply, I did rename the profile folder, no joy.
SuperGumby,
Thank you also, OWA does not allow me to log in as administrator, nor can
log into another workstation as admin, unless logging into the PC only. When
trying to log into OWA, I receive "Error: Access is Denied."
Any other ideas?
How could you have created another administrator without being
able to log on as administrator?
Since you can log in as a secondary administrator, just reset the
password of the main account.
that to copy "Administrator", and it worked fine.
OK, I feel kinda stupid for not trying to reset the password, but how the
hell could it have changed in the first place? I'm the only one who knows it
besides my boss, and he only has it in case I get hit by a truck, as he's
barely able to open text documents without assistance, and wouldn't dream of
trying anything on the server. Can the password be corrupted for just one
user? I guess it never occured to me to try resetting the password.
In any case, thanks for the smack upside the head, both of you.
