Well to me that is conclusive. Its not the RAID. It could be a firewall or
antivirus, but I don't think its likely. It sounds like the networking. Just
to try a different tack, is it set up for Mac, NFS, Netware etc, and can you
disable those in the network properties?

Hi Anthony,
This is really doing my had in now. Just to recap on fixes I have tried
-
- I ensured none of the services above were present
- Increased memory to 1.5GB from & including original 512mb
- Added an additional 100mb NIC alongside original 1GB cards
- Installed SP from HP with hot fixes, rebooted several times
- Changed CAT5e patch cables and LAN switch.
- Ran tests copying from LAN desktop to NAS USB drive [same results]
- Ran test across NAS drives and from USB stick [very fast (see
attached image)]
Before upgrading
WRITE 11MB TO NAS 1200S - 21.37kbps
READ 11MB FROM NAS 1200S - 888.62kbps
After upgrading
WRITE 11MB TO NAS 1200S - 334.27kbps
READ 11MB FROM NAS 1200S - 536.85kbps
As you can see, still a long way to go but I am lost as are HP who are
running similair test and reaching 10mbps!
Are we at the end of the line here? Shall I bin it!
Cheers
Gary
