Re: After Windowsupdate

Hi Coolio,

Thanks for your reply.

For your current situation, I'd like to provide following suggestion to
work around this problem, set the default MTU size to the largest size that
the routers can process. The actual MTU value that is required to work
around this problem depends on the network configuration. However, an MTU
value of 576 should help reduce the effect of the problem because routers
on the Internet should be able to handle such packets without
fragmentation. You must reboot the computer for this registry change to
take an effect. For more information about changing the MTU registry
settings, click the following article numbers to view the articles in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base:

314053 TCP/IP and NBT configuration parameters for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314053/

Note: Please follow the KB article to modify the MTU in registry though it
is applied to Windows XP. (It also applied to Windows Server 2003)

Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interf
aces\ID for Adapter
Value Type: REG_DWORD Number
Valid Range: 68 to the MTU of the underlying network
Default: 0xFFFFFFFF

Change it to 576

Thanks.

Hi Coolio,

Thanks for your reply.

Since nslookup works, I think we now should try to re-register IE

command prompt

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

Please let me know the results.

Thanks.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I have done all the steps, also I have created a new user, no result.
I have not the problem, that the IE6 unexpectedly exits. I have the
problem,
that when I do a nslookup (ex: www.microsoft.com) I get an IP address,
in
the IE6 I get a "The page cannot be displayed".

All the Windows XP work fine, only with the server I have the problem
