Hi Anthony, following tests run this morning:
1 - I put a 512MB USB stick in and copied the 11 mb file across the
LAN, both to the stick and RAID drives and again ran very slow as
before to both.
2 - I then copied the same file from the USB stick to the NAS drives
which copied in excellent time as would be expected.
Does this suggest that the problem is not RAID related as writing to
the NAS from a USB stick or DVD drive is fine?
I know the network is running at good speed as file writes to other
servers are OK and as before I have checked and rechecked the
following:
- Changed the patch cables on the HPNAS
- Repatch cables into another LAN switch
- Tried setting NICs and LAN switch ports to Full Duplex 100mb and
back again to auto sense.
I would try and change a NIC to test but I can get teh bloody case
off!!
Thanx again.
.
