Yes, I have some unique users and a few groups added to the REMOTE DESKTOP
USERS group already. One interesting tid-bit is neither of the two
administrators that can successfully RDP to this server are in this list
(likely b/c they're admins).
I do receive an error when I try logging in via RDP as another user. After
entering the username/password and pressing ok at the login screen, the
following message is displayed w/ an "OK" button. Once you choose OK the
session is terminated. Here's the message:
"You are connected to the remote computer. However, an error occured while
an initial user pgoram was starting, so you are being logged off"
Any thoughts? Also, any suggestions on method(s) to determine what this
"intial user program" is that's trying to start?
Thanks!

Brian - have you tried adding the other users to the REMOTE DESKTOP USERS.
group on the server?
BTY do you get any kind of error message when the other person tries to log
on?

RDP for Administration only. I've gone through these steps previously to
ensure the setup was correct. I have another server that's nearly duplicate
and setup the same (or so I think) that does permit me and others
(non-administrators) access using RDP.
Issue still remains....but thanks for the pointer.

I just assumed responsibility for a Win 2k3 server. I have multiple usersand
that need to RDP to this server. I've confirmed RDP service is enabled
I'm able to RDP to this particular server, however when anyone else doesthey
receive the following errorwhile
"You are connected to the remote computer. However, an error occured
an initial user pgoram was starting, so you are being logged off"my
I don't see anything obvious in the event viewer. I'm at a loss b/c from
understanding of how to enable RDP, permit users to log in, etc thisshould
work.
Assistance is appreciate! Thanks
