Run SCW (Security Configuration Wizard) which comes with Server 03 SP1.
Use it to close the unneeded services/ports.

I did a default install of Standard Server 2003 with SP1. It
connects to the web with a DSL connection. I downloaded and
installed all updates with Windows Updates. Windows Firewall is
enabled. I also installed Symantec Antivirus Corp v.10 and
updated its definition. IE 6 seems to be secure with its own
enhanced security configuration. Is the system beefy enough?
It acts as a file server in a non-critical environment. But I
don't want it to be compromised easily. At least it should have
antivirus and antispyware protection. but I don't see any
anti-spyware software in the picture. Does Windows Firewall do
that? If not, what's a good one to get? What other security
measure do you suggest?
